The International Psycho-Oncology Society (IPOS) and the Canadian Association of Psychosocial Oncology (CAPO) are now accepting abstracts for posters, papers, and workshops for the 21st World Congress and the joint 34th Annual CAPO Conference, to be held in Banff, Alberta on September 23-26, 2019. The conference theme is “A Global Call for Action: Implementing Psychosocial Oncology Research for Optimal Cancer Care”.
This conference will bring together professionals from multiple health care disciplines to explore, share, learn and discuss the psychosocial aspects of cancer. Participants include researchers, clinicians, educators from cancer centers and other medical centers, patient advocates/patient partners and community-based organizations representing disciplines including medicine, psychiatry, nursing, psychology, social work, spiritual care, nutrition, rehabilitation medicine and occupational health for both adult and pediatric populations.
We invite abstracts on a wide range of topics in cancer care and stages of disease ranging from prevention and early diagnosis, to treatment and survivorship, to palliative and end-of-life care. Submissions can be reports of observational studies and clinical trials, innovative programs and service delivery models, systematic reviews, study protocols, clinical guidelines and best practice and local, regional, national and international approaches to build capacity in research, education and clinical care.
The official language of IPOS 2019 is English.
Abstracts will be judged solely on the following criteria.
The IPOS 2019 Scientific Committee will select abstract for orals, poster and symposium presentations by June 1, 2019. The submitting author will receive an email with the decision of the scientific committee. If a selected author cannot attend, the presenting author should assign a replacement. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to reallocate abstracts as necessary. All presenting authors must register for the full conference.
